Calumet County Facility Overview
Calumet County Correctional Facility is operated by the Calumet County Sheriff's Office. It is the public detention facility listed across the county corrections page, sheriff page, current inmate list, booking report, and law-enforcement directory. The facility handles adults arrested or committed in Calumet County, including people booked by sheriff deputies and municipal police agencies serving Brillion, Chilton, Kiel, Menasha, New Holstein, and the Calumet portions of larger Fox Cities law-enforcement contacts.
The facility is not a state prison, federal prison, or ICE detention center. It holds pretrial detainees, people serving county jail sentences, people with scheduled county jail release dates, and people shown in public status classes such as MIN, MED, MAX, GPS, and SAFE KEEPER. The Electronic Monitoring Program is also administered through the Sheriff's Office, but it is not a separate jail building. A person sentenced to Wisconsin state prison should be searched in the Wisconsin DOC locator, not through the Calumet jail PDFs.
Calumet Jail Population
The official public roster inspected for the research file showed 52 total people on July 2, 2026 at 9:30 PM. That is a point-in-time list count, not an official average daily population. The current inmate list includes traditional custody classes and statuses such as GPS and SAFE KEEPER, so the public total should not be read as only locked-cell housing. No official county or Wisconsin DOC source reviewed for this project published a controlling rated bed capacity for Calumet County Correctional Facility.
Annual admissions give a broader view than a single roster count. The Wisconsin DOC Office of Detention Facilities annual report listed 1,082 Calumet County jail admissions in 2025 and 1,106 in 2024, a 2.2% decrease. Admissions are not the same as daily population. One person can be admitted and released within the 7-day booking report window, while another person can remain listed on the current inmate list for a longer case or sentence.
Look Up Facility Inmates
The inmate lookup for Calumet County Correctional Facility starts on the Calumet County Corrections Division page. The county links two public PDF reports: the current inmate list and the booking report. The current list is the closest local equivalent to a jail roster. It refreshes every 15 minutes during normal business hours, requires no login, and has no search box. The booking report covers people booked into jail during the past 7 days and may show a release timestamp for people who were booked and released quickly.
- Open the county Corrections Division page and choose the current inmate list for people now shown in custody, GPS, or safe-keeper status.
- Use browser or PDF find to search by last name or inmate number.
- Open the booking report if the arrest was recent but the person is not on the current list.
- Check the release date and class/status fields before assuming the person is still held.
- Call the jail at (920) 849-1447 or use a records request if neither PDF answers the custody question.
| Public Field | Current List | Booking Report |
|---|---|---|
| Inmate identifier | Inmate# | Inmate ID |
| Name | Last, first, middle when present | Full name |
| Booking date | Timestamp shown | Timestamp shown |
| Release date | Scheduled release for some entries | Release timestamp for some entries |
| Charges or mugshot | Not shown | Not shown |
The county corrections page captured for this build links the official inmate PDFs, booking report, phone and canteen information, and mail rules. The Calumet County Corrections Division page is the best starting point before calling the jail.
The screenshot matters because Calumet does not use a standard searchable jail portal. The official page routes users to PDF reports and direct jail contact lines.
Facility Address and Contact
Calumet County Correctional Facility shares the 206 Court Street government complex address used by the Sheriff's Office, courthouse, District Attorney, Clerk of Circuit Court, and Law Enforcement Records. That makes in-person records and court follow-up more compact than in counties where the jail and courthouse sit on separate campuses. It also means visitors should confirm the correct entrance, visitor rules, and any appointment or access needs before traveling.

Visiting Calumet Facility Inmates
The official Calumet Corrections and FAQ pages reviewed for the research file did not publish a full public visitation schedule. That absence should be treated as a real access point, not filled with guessed hours. Before visiting, call Calumet County Correctional Facility at (920) 849-1447 and confirm whether visits are available, whether they are in person or video, what identification is required, and whether the person is eligible for a visit that day.
| Visit Type | Published Schedule | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| County jail public visits | Not located in official online sources | Call the jail before arrival. |
| Attorney visits | Not located in official online sources | Verify with jail staff or court counsel. |
| State prison visits | Facility-specific DOC process | Use DOC visiting rules after transfer to state custody. |
Visitor planning should also account for parking and accessibility. The official jail pages reviewed did not publish a visitor-lot map, public transit route, or jail-specific ADA entrance note. The practical step is to call the jail or county main line before arrival if mobility access, accommodations, or visitor-entry instructions matter for the visit.
Mail Phone and Canteen
Calumet's official pages provide clearer rules for mail, calls, canteen, and money than for visitation. Inmate mail must include the inmate's name and the facility address, and the envelope must include a return name and address. Improperly addressed mail can be returned or held in property. Soft-covered books are allowed only from a vendor, bookstore, or subscription source. Magazines are not allowed. Security-threatening or racially derogatory or inflammatory materials can be treated as contraband.
| Service | Provider or Method | Rules and Fees |
|---|---|---|
| Inmate phone | Turnkey Corrections / Inmate Canteen | Collect calls or calls paid from inmate phone accounts; calls may be blocked for security. |
| Lobby kiosk | Correctional Facility lobby | Cash and credit-card deposits; $2 cash transaction fee and $8.95 credit-card transaction fee. |
| Online funding | Team Inmate Canteen | Linked from county Corrections and FAQ pages. |
| Mail or in-person deposit | Cashier's check, money order, or personal check | Checks must be payable to the inmate; debit cards are not accepted. |
| Jail debt | Facility account offset | FAQ says 50% to 100% of a deposit may apply to inmate debt. |
Routine telephone messages are not accepted for inmates. If there is a verified emergency, such as a death in the family or major illness, the jail will make every attempt to deliver the message. That emergency-message rule is narrower than a general message service, so callers should not use the booking desk for routine family updates.
Bond and Release
Bond may be paid at the Clerk of Circuit Court during office hours and at Calumet County Correctional Facility outside those hours. The county FAQ says the jail is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for bond posting. Cash and credit cards are acceptable. Cash payments carry a $2.00 surcharge, and credit-card bond carries a 10% surcharge. If a credit card is used, the cardholder named on the card must appear in person to sign the charge slip.
Before posting bond, confirm the exact person, case, amount, and any hold. A no-bond hold, probation or parole hold, other-county warrant, federal detainer, or immigration issue can keep a person in custody even after money is available. The public Calumet jail PDFs do not list all hold details, so phone confirmation is important.
Booking and Classification
The public materials do not provide a full internal booking manual, but the reports and FAQ show the public outputs. A person receives or is linked to an inmate ID, name, sex, race, booking timestamp, and in some cases a scheduled release date. The current list also shows a Class value. Observed values include MIN, MED, MAX, GPS, and SAFE KEEPER. These are public classification or status labels, not a full risk-assessment explanation.
Indigent inmates receive soap, toothbrush and paste, comb, and deodorant at booking according to the FAQ. Funds may be placed in canteen accounts through the lobby kiosk, mail or in-person check or money order, and Team Inmate Canteen. The booking record may become visible on the 7-day booking report even if the person leaves custody quickly.
Electronic Monitoring Status
The Calumet County Electronic Monitoring Program is a sheriff-administered alternative to incarceration. The sheriff or designee decides participation. Courts, probation and parole, and the DA cannot order a person into EMP, though recommendations may be considered. Applicants are told to review rules, complete forms, and bring them to the Correctional Facility at least two weeks before the sentence starts.
Note: Confirm custody, GPS status, release eligibility, and visit rules with the jail before travel or payment.
